Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Here we are again with another chocolate recipe you will love. It’s made with four ingredients: strawberries, white chocolate, milk chocolate and cream. What do you get? White chocolate covered strawberries. If you really want to show off at the end of a dinner with friends or in a romantic situation, these chocolate strawberries will be just perfect, and it will take very little time to prepare, only 20 minutes plus 40 to let them cool.

Here are the quantities for this chocolate covered strawberries recipe. As for all the recipes with few ingredients, the higher their quality, the better.

300gr (10½ oz) medium ripe strawberries
250gr (9 oz) white chocolate
100gr (3½ oz) milk chocolate for extra icing
100ml (3½ fl oz) double cream

Directions: wash the strawberries and gently pat them dry with kitchen paper.

You will find recipe chocolate covered strawberries around with the icing until half way, but (here’s my confession) I’m proud to be radical: I want them ALL covered in chocolate. Here’s how I do it. Pluck out the leaves, and carefully slice the white top part off. Lay them upside down on a tray that you will have covered with cling film.

Stick a toothpick in each strawberry from the top.

Chop the white chocolate and melt it with the bain-marie (or water bath) technique, which will allow you to melt the chocolate more delicately and make your chocolate dipped strawberries look even better. Here is how it works: take a medium pan and put a smaller pan in it. Fill the larger pan with water until it reaches ¾ of the height of the smaller one. Then put it on the stove on a low-medium heat. Put the chocolate in the smaller pan and let the heat melt it. The process will be gentler because the heating will be indirect, with water as a conductor.

Ok, back to our chocolate covered strawberry now.

When the chocolate is completely melted, add the cream and mix well. Now comes the artistic part. Take each strawberry by the toothpick and dip them completely in the chocolate and cream mix. Drip the chocolate in excess, then put them back on the tray. While you let them cool, melt the milk chocolate with the same technique. Now care dip just the top (now bottom) part and put them on the tray but let them lay on one side.

And there you go, your homemade chocolate covered strawberries are done, let them cool 10 more minutes then leave them in the fridge for2 hours.

Serve with sweet wine.
